Stand Up Paddle Boarding

Stand Up Paddle Boarding, is a an activity which – according to some – originated in Hawaii as an offshoot of surfing. The ancient Polynesians have also been credited with "inventing" this unique mode of waterborne transport while others contest that Stand Up Paddle Boarding (often referred to as SUPs) naturally emerged from modern surfing techniques.

Regardless of where it originated, SUPs has proven to be a fun and invigorating way to experience the beauty of Sangat’s coastline and surrounding waters.

Unlike the traditional prone or kneeling style of board paddling, SUPs enable a guest to navigate a body of open water much faster and with less physical effort. Over just the past few years, this activity has gained so much momentum that a 2013 report stated that Stand Up Paddle Boarding enjoyed the most first-time participants of any other outdoor activity.

Paddle board rentals are available to any resort guest for US $8.00 for 1 hour, US $20.00 for 4 hours, or US $29.50 for 8 hours.
