Shown below are responses to one or more frequently asked questions about indigenous wildlife on and around Sangat Island. If you don't find an answer to your question below – or within other sections of our website – please feel free to send us an email by clicking here.
Are they any particularly dangerous insects, animals or marine life that I should be concerned about during my visit to Sangat?
We have the usual varieties of stinging insects, poisonous aquatic species and jelly fish which are endemic to this region but – in our opinion – none are particularly aggressive or fatal.
An obvious, common sense approach to this concern would be to avoid touching any land or marine-based animal you are not familiar with and to always be cautious and aware of your surroundings when venturing into the water while barefoot.
